Privacy Policy for Teknilingua
Last Updated: January 6, 2026
At Teknilingua, we believe that learning should not come at the cost of your privacy. We adhere to a "Privacy by Design" philosophy, collecting only the minimum data necessary to provide our educational services.
1. Data We Collect and Why
We categorize our data collection into two stages:
- A. Guest Usage (Current)
If you use Teknilingua without registering:
- Anonymous Identifier (GUID): We generate a unique, random string (e.g., a "Study Ticket") to track your progress locally. This is not linked to your real-world identity.
- Functional Data: We process stats regarding Domains, Categories, Micro-Skills, and Descriptions to calculate your learning percentages.
- Technical Cookies: We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged into your current session.
- B. Registered Accounts (Future/Optional)
To claim a permanent Study Ticket and generate a full syllabus, we will require:
- Name: To personalize your study materials and syllabus.
- Email Address: To serve as your login credential and to deliver your generated syllabus.
- Purpose: This data is used strictly for account management and service delivery.
2. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the GDPR, we process your data based on:
- Contractual Necessity: To provide the syllabus and tracking services you request.
- Legitimate Interest: To maintain the security and technical integrity of the web app.
3. Data Retention & Erasure
- Anonymous Data: Progress linked to an unclaimed GUID is stored until the browser session or local cache is cleared, or until it remains inactive for [Insert Period, e.g., 12 months].
- Account Data: Once registered, your Name and Email are stored until you request account deletion. Upon deletion, your PII is erased, and study stats are fully anonymized.
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
- No Sale of Data: We never sell your personal data.
- No Third-Party Tracking: We do not use marketing pixels or third-party analytics that track your behavior across other websites.
5. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your data (even in anonymous GUID form).
- Rectify incorrect information.
- Delete your data ("Right to be Forgotten").
- Export your data in a portable format.
